I'm going to share what we have been doing for Hur1 class at high school. What we have been doing was making a summary of the history of Aotearoa.

Abel Tasman was the first to arrive in Aotearoa in 1642, he called Aotearoa Nava Zealandia. In 1769 the next explorer to arrive in Aotearoa was captain cook.
Tupaia was the helper to find NZ. Europeans bring pigs, potatoes, rats, shipwright.
The musket wars ended in 1830s. The ratio of the maori to pakeha in aotearoa was 40 to 1.
